Trojans and Raiders to play Stick-It To Cancer fundraiser
News, Posted on February 3, 2020

February is starting off with the 7th Annual Major Pratt Trojans Stick-It to Cancer hockey game against the Roblin Raiders held tomorrow, February 5 at 7:30 p.m. at the Russell Multiplex.

It all started in 2013 when Linda Cullum formed the annual tradition to help raise funds for the Russell Hospital’s Chemo Unit. It was later taken over by Sarah Reichmuth who continues to host this event to help fundraise for Expanding Community Cancer Care (ECCC).

In 2019, the school and hockey team donated $17,000 and over the past six years, $95,000 has been raised. The long time running ECCC fundraiser currently has $1.2 million raised to date and are currently waiting for an answer from the provincial government in regards to the project. A meeting for the public regarding progress will be held February 25 at 7:00 p.m. at the George P. Buleziuk Centre.
