Beef & Barley feels Covid-19 effect
News, Posted on June 29, 2020

The Beef & Barley board members had a hard decision to make when it comes to hosting the festival for 2020.

Due to the regulations, rules and protocols of Covid-19 currently in place, the Beef & Barley committee has made the decision to cancel the festival.

“It is 100% because of Covid-19 and the regulations that are in place. There is no way that we can hold the same quality of events that we have grown to have with the limitations that are in place” explained board member, Sadie McCauley.

The committee feels that there would be more disappointment in the lack of events, making it better to hold off for the year.

“We are optimistic that cancelling will encourage people to come next year and that it will be bigger and better” she said.

The board had to contemplate what the best decision for the community of Russell would be and for obvious reasons, the safest plan was to wait until 2021.
